KAYS LIGHT PRODUCES LACKLUSTRE EFFORT

NHRE

Kay’s Light was a bit of a madam in the preliminaries and probably did herself no favours by bubbling over before the start, and that was probably her race done for. She still has potential from her current handicap mark and Paul seems to think this was a one off after her previous good showing at X where she stayed on well over two and half miles. A step up in trip could be next on the agenda.

Trainer & Jockey Feedback

Paul mentioned that he was disappointed with her temperament again, and it seems that she was on one of those days where she wanted to be naughty, just as she was when Bob was going to ride her in the flat charity race. There is no doubt she has the ability to win a race as she has show that a few times.

“We’ll see how she is when we get her home, and it might be an idea to school her over a fence to see if that can help. She is not overly big but jumps her hurdles very well and trying different things is something we will look at.”

“She can be a cheeky madam, and stepping her up to three miles will be beneficial as she was just chasing the pace and did not pick up the bridle.”
